We’re one month away from the Maui extravaganza!
Here are a few updates…don’t be surprised if things shift a bit; we may need to go with the aloha flow!
Schedule of Events (all family members, friends, and tagalongs are welcome to join in ALL events).
Tuesday 7/8: Drinks and dinner hosted at the home of Grant Kaufman and Earl Perlow (Emily’s brother and brother-in-law).
Time: TBA
Attire: Totally casual.
Location:
3169 Hoomua Dr
Kihei, HI 96753
Wednesday 7/9: Booze cruise, dinner and live music with Kai Kanani Sailing, departing from Makena Landing (which is about a 5 minute drive from Wailea). They will pick you up or you can drive yourself (there's tons of free parking available). Time will be in the late afternoon (3-4 ish, based on the tide schedule). Emily's fabulous niece, Rose, will coordinate with Kai Kanani and set up the shuttle for you from your lodging to the boat. When we all get to Maui, she will reach out to ask if you want the free shuttle that they provide. You can make a "game-time decision" on this. IMPORTANT: There is a chance that we’ll have a “wet entry” (depending on tides), so dress appropriately - bring/wear a bathing suit a towel.
Thursday 7/10: Wedding ceremony at Makena beach, 3:00pm. Shuttle departs from The Shops at Wailea at 2:30. After the ceremony, we will shuttle/drive (see below) to South Maui Gardens (15 minutes) for the reception.
Attire for the wedding: Be comfortable! Makena Beach parking is across the beach (ie, you'll be walking across a fair stretch of hot, soft sand). The ceremony is on a little hill that you'll climb. The best shoes for this are waterproof sandals that are secure on your feet (think Teva, not flip flops), sneakers, water shoes, or, if you've got tough feet, you can do it barefoot. Remember, the average temperature on Maui in July is 85...think strappy sundresses for women and golf shirts/linen and shorts for men. We want you to relax, be comfortable and have a great time. Leave the Spanx at home.
We are staying at Wailea Beach Villas ($$$) https://www.waileabeachvillasresort.com a condominium complex located on the beach adjacent to "The Shops at Wailea".
Swanky beach resorts ($$$$$) in Wailea include:
All are within walking distance of our condos as well as "The Shops at Wailea".
There is also a Marriott Residence Inn and AC Hotel in the area.
Maui has restricted the numbers of short term rental properties, so these options are limited to:
Maui is separated into five regions:
All of the wedding activities will take place in South Maui. We strongly recommend staying in this part of the island as travel between regions can be difficult.
No drama permitted!
